Jay Peak - 12/17/11

Solid day skiing with the girls at Jay Peak. Messed around a lot on Haynes as only a couple of runs were open to ski. It was a Saturday so the runs had a bit of traffic but we got through it and all in all the day was a success. Until next time, pray for snow.

12/13/2011 Jay Peak

We finally got up to Jay to ski for the first time this season. Although conditions were far from Jay-like, it was great to be skiing even limited Jay terrain. Hoff and I hot lapped the Jet and Haynes, finding that over on Haynes there was a little bit more man made on the edges of the run with some baby features along the way. After about eight trails and a half gallon of beer we headed back to Burlington, eager for our next trip to Jay.

11/27/2011 - Killington...again

Shredded some mashed potato flakes yesterday at the Beast. Killington was open top to bottom and not waiting in line was a welcome change, considering last time Hoffman and I stood in line in excess of 20 minutes everytime we boarded the lift. Yesterday also marked my first ducked rope of the season and I also found out that it was roped off for a reason, as evidenced by the brook that presented itself in the middle of the run. Hopefully the rain stays away from Vermont and we can get to skiing Jay Peak before Christmas. Til then, pray for snow!

11/6/2011 - Killington

Well nothing feels better than getting your first turns in before Thanksgiving. Hoffman and I caravaned down to Killington and did just that yesterday. With just one lift other than the gondola open the lines were consistently 20 minutes long but luckily the crew at the Beast were serving beers at the North Ridge Lift. We hot lapped the Reason terrain park a few times and messed around on the early season hard pack. Hopefully this will hold us over until November 25th---Jay Peak's opening day.
